In partnership with the Redford Center and the US Green Building Council, Youth Speaks launched Brave New Voices Speak Green in 2006 as a way to ensure that youth have a voice in some of the critical issues of our day.
Since inception, more and more young poets have been given the opportunity to speak their truths about how the environment—beyond the polar ice caps—effects them in their everyday existence.
Poets of the “Green Team” have spoken and performed to mayors from across the country, former President Bill Clinton, Speaker Pelosi, Nobel Prize winner Bishop Desmond Tutu, Robert Redford, and the leadership of the Ford Foundation among many other opportunities.
